Hi Dena, thanks for checking on me. How is your recovery going? Just take it one day at a time. I am doing well, no pain, but I do have twinges if I bend down or bend the wrong way. I really have no other complaints. Take care!

Dena I hope you get this message soon. I was moved to the marriott and didn't get to let you know I was leaving. I am in room 219. Get a hold of me so we can watch the game together. I think it will be on at 3 or 3:30 local time. Melissa

Hello Dena Kay, I noticed that we are both having surgery in Tijuana Friday. I will be at Mi Doctor Hospital. Is that where you will be? My surgery will be in the afternoon sometime because I am flying in on the same day.

Thank you so much It makes me feel great when i can help anyone or give them hope. If you have any questions I'll be more than happy to answer them Yes I try to eat better I say try because there are times where I cheat :/ I do exercise, walk during the week and workout 3 times a week (I do Capoeira) is a Brazilian martial art. I think the best way to see results is by using the tool and to use the tool you have to eat better (your're going to eat less) and work out. Thank you for the tip I'll like to try it

Well so far so good. Learning to re eat is harder than I expected. I measure everything and that helps a ton. I went out to eat for the first time today and cried as I watched all the food I used to eat. It wasn't a sad cry but an acceptance that this is the new me and a cup of meso soup was more than I could eat. When we finished the waiter thought I didn't like it due to me not finishing it like I used to. Then my hubby spoke up and said it was so good she cried over it she is just full and eating healthier now so expect her to be eating less.

The hospital was good. I went alone and it was an experience for me. The pain isn't unbearable just more annoying. Dr. Almanzo is great I personally wouldn't allow anyone else to do my surgery. I researched him throughly and he was the best from what I found.

Going alone is no big issue they transport you every where you need to go. Know walking around down there is different. I did walk around alone but not very far. I only went where the hotel personal told me was safe. To do it again I would go alone just maybe not get a private room. I paid extra for a private room and maybe a room mate would of been better.

Well, I hope this answers all your questions and its nice to meet you. Maybe something time in the future we can meet for lunch or something.

Thank you! I'm doing good. I'm waiting on the clinic for have my surgery done. In my pre-op diet for breakfast I have a protein shake, for lunch some chicken broth and for dinner another protein shake. During the day you can have sugar free jell-o and sf posticles.

The vitamin thing still erks me. Mornings are still tough cause I cant eat and the vitamins make me nauseous. Everyone is different, you may not have the issues I have. I wish you the best of luck with your surgery. It is so worth it!!

About denakayhall0218
Sleeved or not sleeved:
I have had a gastric sleeve.
Biography:
I am 63 year old, I have battled weight loss since 1990, had two nodes on thyroid and began gaining weight after I had radioactive iodine to dissolve nodes. The nodes were benign thank goodness but the weight began to be a problem. I am always cold, and I cannot eat a normal diet, If I eat about 1 time a day, it is ok, but if I eat anymore, I gain so much and it is impossible to take off with an underactive thyroid now.

I am just tired of fighting this, after 20 years of this problem I hope I have found a way so I cannot eat as much and lose weight without being miserable.

I don't think I will have a problem adjusting after, I just need something to get started with, have taken diet pills, (Phentermine) I am immune to them I think, I take Levithroid, (138 mg.) up to this milligram, and my diet is out of control, I have just given up and if I don't do something now, I'm done for.

I am glad I am beginning this amazing journey and I am glad I found this surgery and this group.

I do not have insurance, and if I don't get blood work, Dr. will not refill thyroid or diet pills, and when I do have meds, if I don't lose weight he won't refill meds, I am in a catch-22 position, so I'm stuck.

This is why I need to get this surgery done.

Thank goodness for modern medicine. Maybe I can get refills, to pills, by losing weight and get on a even pace?

Staying positive.
All I want to do is sleep since I have no thyroid meds and I'm just miserable can't wait until 1/30/2014 when I go to Tijuana for surgery on 1/31/2014 with Dr. Osuna at Mi Doctors Hospital. Staying at Marriott in Tijuana on the 30 Jan. 2014. let me know if anyone else is travelling that day, so we can hook up and share.

I am going by myself and I'm a little scared.

How are your eating just soup or on a little more substantial now?

Do you fell good, and how long were you sore, if any?

Thanks for your knowledge>

So glad your ok.

So glad I found you on this blog, it put me at ease now.

Found this information on a You Tube Video; that makes sense and has worked well for a Sleever into this 2 yrs. and keeps her weight in check.
