  1. Havent' been on here in a while. Have lost a total of 79 lbs since surgery on 2/15.
I feel I struggle a lot. I do however continue to go to the gym 3x a week. Water is a struggle. Easy to go back to bad habits but I am soooo much better than prior to surgery. Not gaining, but just not losing either. Thought I would be further along in my weight loss. Still, glad I did it. Best decision I ever made.

It's been awhile since we last spoke. Just wanted to update... However at this point you have been well on your way! I'm still not sleeved yet. August 31 is my big day. Still experimenting with protein. Lol... And by that I mean, it has taken my awhile to build up courage and try about 3 different kinds! Lol... I did a ton of research, a ton of asking for others suggestions. I'm happy to report I found the very best protein...hands down. It is called genepro. 1 TBS has 30 grams of protein...and it is 100% completely tasteless. The stuff is amazing. Mixes smooth, small amount, mixes hot and cold... If you are still having trouble, and I hope not... Do yourself a favor and try it! I bought my first go around on Amazon , a 1lb container. My second go around was a 3lb container found cheapest on eBay. Hope you are doing well... And hope to stay in touch!

I still have not opened mine. Sigh. Maybe this week? My daughter is home from college, maybe she will be brave enough to experiment with me. Thank you so much for updating me. I feel the same way about jolly ranchers... We are too much a like! I have to look up where a GNC is located near me. I am hoping to even find a non flavored powder, that can be placed into my favorite drink / crystal lite products. At least I know I like the flavor... However, I hear even non flavored has flavor? And if the powder is gritty, it will be a no go! Thanks for the vitamin tips. I had better get busy. I promise to work on this and report back! .....if I survive!! Lol.....

Glad to hear there are others in my boat about flavors and textures. Please keep me posted, and I will do likewise... If you find something tolerable. I still have not opened my NewWhey, but feel sure that diluting it is the ticket? My surgeon and nutritionist want me to have 100 grams of protein a day, for 2 years post op. It is important for me to find something I like. I have to get brave and find something before surgery. Best wishes! Please keep me posted!

Thanks! My surgery was pushed to 1/22/15 because of insurance taking so long to approve.

8 month Update

by Paloma on 10-03-2015 at 09:36 AM
Hello,
Love reading the blogs of all my fellow Sleevers, that I started with.
At this time (8 months out) I have lost a total of 70 pounds. Weight loss is slowing down a lot. I do eat about 6 oz at a time in 15 min. Mostly protein, veggies and very little carbs. I have hair loss and thinning but remain on the Biotin supplements. Don't blog much these days. Have had a few family issues. Weddings, funerals but, otherwise so extremely happy with my decision to have surgery. Still have

Life is good 6 months out.

by Paloma on 07-30-2015 at 05:44 AM
Hello fellow journeymen/women.
I will be 6 months post op this coming week. I have lost a total of 60lbs. Have hit a stall or two along the way. Hair thinning and falling is an issue. I strategically place each hair in place (better than Donald Trump). Very happy. Thought I would be further along in my weight loss. 60 lbs is good. It's very good. I certainly am eating bigger portions than I had previously. I think that is my problem. What if I stretch out my new tummy? I don't drink as much

No to bad habits!!

by Paloma on 05-12-2015 at 03:45 PM
3 months post op. I've lost 46lbs thus far. Eating a variety of foods. Very little carbs. I just don't trust myself. Carbs make me feel soooo...guilty. Just too hard to stop. I find I want to taste all the bad stuff I left behind. Puts me in a panic. What if I stop losing ? I have eaten too much on occasion and it feels like a ton of bricks. So why does it not stop me from doing that? I know, it's a tool. I have to be on guard because I can see how those bad habits can sneak up on you. On the

Time to go Back to Work.

by Paloma on 03-12-2015 at 05:50 PM
Going back to work tomarrow, Friday. Concerned with my 12-13 hour shifts. Praying it's all good. I become tired easily, but overall feeling strong. A little bored at home too. Ready to pack all my water and small portions. My FITBIT is charged. Had a stall for 2 wks. Finally moved another 2 lbs. Yay.
Giddy Up!!!

Stalls are a downer.

by Paloma on 03-07-2015 at 07:03 PM
Read a good post and good comments here recently RE: stalls. I am now entering wk 5 post op and have only lost 4 lbs since coming home from the hospital. What a downer. Did not want to become obsessed with the scale but now I am. Just hoping to catch a break. Not getting all my water and protein in. Eating right. Started exercising, but recently became a grandma and my regular routine was disrupted. Going back to work this week coming. Let's see if with the increase in activity will produce results.
