Tomorrow starts it all! Nervous & Excited!!!

Tomorrow I start my pre op diet with my surgery happening on Oct 27th!!

I started this journey back in January of this year. I had gone to see a general surgeon to find out about my ventral hernia. The appointment ended with her recommending for me to have gastric sleeve surgery so that I could lose the weight and keep it off. The surgery I have to go thru in order to remove the ventral hernia has a pretty bad recovery, she said she didn't want to sugar coat anything for me, so she wanted to make sure I had the weight off so that there is a minimal chance of the hernia coming back and her having to do this surgery again. So that is what started me on this path towards the gastric sleeve.

I had to do a 6 month doctor supervised diet per my insurance and was pretty happy when I heard about this. I know this sounds weird but this is not something I have been thinking about and wanting for a long time. I needed the time to wrap my head around all the changes I would have to go thru and get my head in the game. Once I had everything completed I was AMAZED how fast my insurance approved me and how fast I got scheduled. My original date was Nov 3rd but then my surgeon moved me to Oct 27th.

So I am trying to look forward to tomorrow as a new beginning rather than an ending of what I can eat. I am also looking forward to the new year hoping that the hardest part of all of this will be behind me. I am so thankful for my husband and my daughter who are behind me 100%. I know with their help and support (and you guys here!) I will succeed with this. Everyday may not be perfect or pleasant, but I am determined to succeed!!!
