Incision Sites

Rate this Entry
Any information anyone feels like sharing on their incision sites is welcome!! Five out of six of mine look great, but the sixth is puckered and horrible. Any thoughts? When is it okay to start using neosporin or something like it? Is there a simple way to be sure there is no infection? OY!!!

Surgery three years ago, can't even see any incision sites.

Neosporin sure won't hurt, if it gets bad call your surgeon.

I'd call your doctor if there are any signs of infection, best to get to it right away.

I had told everyone I was metal allergic and the larger incision sites got nasty. Doctor took them out and I used steri strips. You may be having a reaction of start of infection in that one. See your doctor - better safe than sorry! Antibiotics and steri strips were the ticket for me. Good luck and hope you get better soon.

Definitely call your doctor. I started using neosporin about 2 weeks out. I'm almost at 5 weeks and mine look great.
