Thinking Ahead

Rate this Entry
I'm just sitting here thinking about the things I will be able to do once I lose the weight......after feeling better which is the top of my list, now I know this will sound crazy....but I want to wear a pair of high heels....something I haven't done in years. Oh and I want to ride the rides on the boardwalk, this surgery can open doors that have been closed to me for so long.....Does anyone else have something that is just something they want to do that they haven't been able to do with so much excess weight? If you have already done your surgery, have you finally been able to do it and what was it, and most importantly how did it feel?

I have always worked and now I am retired so I want to travel and be a tourist or take a trip with a group of people somewhere in the usa. with so much violence going on I think a group would be safer in most cases rather than just the two of us. we boat, fish, play bingo, visit casinos and took a road trip thru the rocky mountains last september and would go again. I would like zumba class or water aerobics this summer so I am thinking of several things to do that I have not done enough of recently. we need to make a bucket list of sorts.

The rides sound so good. It's been a long time for me too. I can't wait to get my sexy back.

I'm 8 months post-op and 1 pound from goal (have lost 84 pounds).

My life now is so different than a year ago that it's astonishing. Despite my talents and accomplishments, a year ago I had become nearly agoraphobic, hiding out from life. I moved very little (1,000 steps/day). I was just a big fat mess!

Today, I hide out from nothing. I feel good, I look good and, doggone it, people like me!

This is what I want for myself....I know what you mean, I am lazy and a big fat mess......I don't have the energy to be anything else right now.....but as I can see from all the posts, it doesn't have to be this way.....so happy for you to get your life back. We all have something to offer this world. ENJOY every second!!

Some of the things on my sleeve bucket list are:
    1) have someone take a pic of me and post it social media without having me approve it
    2) ziplining/amusment parks rides
    3) have my actual weight match my driver license weight
    4) be able to wear my suede knee high heel boots
    5) tie my shoes without holding my breath
I have a whole list but these are just a few......

Some of my goals that have been met; I no longer fear booths. - Going into a new restaurant with coworkers would make me so nervous that sometimes I wouldn't go. What if they don't have tables..? Shopping in a regular store. I just hit size 16, this size is easily bought in most stores ( as long as your not going into a store made for this people, although not all sizes are the same.

Now I want to get on a rollercoaster. I went to Knott's three months ago and couldn't fit yet (after waiting over two hours for the ride, very disappointing). I may have been able to squeeze in at the time but was afraid of what that might do to my healing tummy.

    1. Having normal blood pressure and kicking the anti-hypertensive meds to the curb.
    2. Getting on amusement park rides with my daughter. not being able to ride with her and seeing her dissapointment broke my heart.
    3. Being able to wear a size L.
    4. WEIGHING LESS THAN A PRO NFL PLAYER!
    5. Going Zip-Lining.
    Goals that i've met
    1. Wearing clothes that are at the back of my closet! Those darned clothes are actuall BACK IN STYLE! Lol!
    2. Having my daughter say that i'm doing a good job and she's proud of me. THIS IS THE BEST ONE!

I am just getting starting with my weight loss journey, my goal is to lose 150Lbs. I too have a fabulous closet full of stylish high heels that I can not wait to be able to wear again. I also cant wait to wear a tight pair of jeans with all the bling on the pockets. I'm looking forward to riding on the back of a motorcycle without worrying that I am to heavy for the driving to ride safely. I am a cancer survivor and I hope the weight loss with not only lower my chances of secondary breast cancer but that the threat of diabetes will be no more.

Last year I did not go to the beach or use my kayak... Not. One. Time! After losing 98 lbs, I have already been in a bathing suit at a very busy indoor water park and I am looking forward to getting my kayak back out in the water! I'm looking forward to being an active participant in my kids activities instead of just a bystander!

I see so many things on our bucket list that others take for granted but mean so much to those of us who have been held prisoner of our own bodies.....praying and wishing all good things to all of us who have decided to take control of our lives again or for the first time.
