Sunday sweet Sunday!!

Today I woke up to a light rain but it is also my running day. It wasn't cold. So I threw my running clothes on and got ready for my run. Didn't even need my running jacket. A little rain during a run has never bothered me. I actually kind of like it because it keeps you cool. The only thing that bugs me is water getting kicked up on my calves so I wore long running pants versus the capri length that I prefer.
It is week 3 of my C25K running program. Obviously it is getting progressively harder. Today was 90 seconds running, followed by 90 seconds of walking, 3 minutes of running, 3 minutes of walking for 2 rounds. And of course the 5 minute warm up and cool down. It was a little difficult today as I did not eat very well yesterday. Did not get in enough protein and ran this morning on an empty stomach. I was still able to successfully complete it but I know that my lower protein intake affected my performance. The total distance of my workout was still 2 1/2 miles so I cannot complain. This week is only 28 minutes total. Next week it is going to be harder as I peeked ahead to see what the running was going to look like. I think that was the week that I had to redo a few times the last time I did the program. We will see.
Already doing better today with my protein intake. Going to a friends to watch the game and have a barbeque in a bit. Barbeques are easy because they have lots of protein! Makes it easier then just going over to someone's house because you never know if it is going to be hard to find something suitable. Especially since I have not told everyone about my WLS. I just tell them I am following a low carb diet.
So far this Sunday is off to an amazing start! Hope everyone else is having a great day!

    Running on Sunday morning! Impressive!
Apparently from what I was reading a few weeks ago, women will do better if they have protein before a work out, for men it's better after. The study was a comparison on how effective the work out was on burning out fat..
For me the real workout was getting everybody ready on time for a brunch with friends, we made it before 11 AM, that was a big victory (my kids don't like to get up "early" on Sunday)...then I walked only 3.5 miles yesterday and my knee started acting funny again...I am dragging my feet here because a consult with a specialist is long overdue but it will have to wait until my next trip in February.

I usually do. It is just today we had a lot going on so we got up and went running right away. And Sunday is the only day we go in the morning. The other days we go at night.
