I had my tummy tuck!

I posted a few weeks ago that I was getting a tummy tuck Dec. 5. I did it! It went well and I have not had too much pain. If I walk a lot, like through a parking lot in to a store my upper abs start getting super tight and it's uncomfortable. But, I had read and heard so much about the pain I was expecting the worse. My first walk at the hospital I sat up and got out of bed easily. The nurse said he had never seen any post op patient move so easily.
However, on day 5 I woke up with 103 fever. I went to the ER expecting that I had developed an infection from the surgery. We'll after spending most of the day there getting, ex rays, lab and a CT they found that I had an obstructing, infected kidney stone. So, I had emergency surgery to place a stent. I spent 2 more nights in the hospital. My fever got up to 104.5 at one point. I felt like poop for a good 5 days with off and on fevers. Today I had a 3rd surgery in a week in a half to blast the stone away. It was out patient so at least I'm home. I do have to say that the stone has been a harder recovery than the tummy tuck.
I also am grateful for the tummy tuck. I would not have gone to the dr so quickly with a fever if I hadn't been concerned about infection. It would have been a lot worse than it was.

That's great about your tummy tuck. Too bad you got a stone and had to have more surgery. Hope you recover quickly.

Well that is sucky timing. I'm glad you're feeling better. Would love to hear more about your tummy tuck when you're up to it.

I'm very pleased with the tummy tuck. My belly button is a little strange. A general surgeon did it, not a plastic surgeon. It was at an Army Hospital. I just wanted my tummy gone. I'm almost 50 and have know intentions of ever wearing a swimsuit. My tummy is really flat. I thought there would be something left over. I am happy with it. I'm still a little swollen and have about another month to wear the band. My clothes fit weird. I'm kind of waiting to buy clothes until I'm at least out of the band. I will slowly work on other body parts. I would love to do my arms. The Dr. said that wouldn't be approved because it was cosmetic. My husband retires in 10 months, so I'm sure I need to save up for it.
