I am on about 5 different medications. I was just wondering if everyone was able to take their meds after surgery?
Hi Sandi. I'm on quite a few meds too and have no choice but to take them. So I missed the day of surgery, but had to start again the following day. It wasn't the most fun thing - I cried as they hurt my throat and I was afraid of taking them - but it got easier as the days went on. All the best!
If they are really big pills, cut them to make it easier to go down.
On a good note, if you are on blood pressure or cholesterol meds, after the pre-op diet and a month or so after , you should see a noticeable change in your cholesterol andf blood pressure.
I was able to stop both those meds.
Hi! The day after my surgery I took my one small BP med because BP was still up from all the IV fluids. The pill went down easy, no problem at all. I only need to take BP med until I got rid of IV fluid and how my BP is totally fine. The doctor told me to stop my cholesterol meds day before surgery. Off both meds now. Only take one small pill for stomach acid and vitamins. No problem ever with pills. Good luck with your upcoming surgery.
