I just had a barium swallow. I was sleeved April 2012 however, have always had the ability to eat quite a bit of food and not much oral restriction. Its increasingly difficult to curb my appetite and can easily eat for example a six inch meatball sub or 100gram steak, potato and salad. Essentially i can eat like a normal person. I will end up fat again. I have a failed gastric sleeve. The fondus is in tact and this is the cause.
My surgeon has recommend re-sleeving due to barium swallow shows a dilated fundus.
He is not sure why the fundus has ballooned out and not answered my question as only via email on whether it was cut in the first place.
I have the scans of my barium swallow and have googled but can not find images of patients sleeved to compare mine to.
I essentially want to be armed with all the information at hand prior to my face to face appointment next week to ensure i make the right decision to resleeve or not.
There is an increased leakage risk for re-sleeving My surgeon takes the statistics from those that have gone lap band to sleeve. The chance of dying is still quite slow.
Im a lucky person and trust my surgeon to erro on the side of caution so dont believe i will have a leakage but am curious to see what others new stomach looks like.
I started at 146kg. 9 months later I am 109kg. Would you resleeve? my goal weight is 85kg so i still have 24kg to go.
