20 days!

I have my pre op appointment today and then I'm starting my pre op diet next thursday! I am getting really nervous now. Especially since I'm going to CA for my husband's graduation next week, and I have to start my diet while i'm there

And for my birthday too. Lame!

But I will say, it will totally be worth it. I'm so ready and so nervous all at the same time. My husband has been really supportive, and he is even going with me to my appointment today (first time he's actually home for one...).

My Doc does not have his patients do pre-op diets (liquid), but I had my surgery 3 days before my Birthday. We all experience the nervousness, its normal. But know if you’re going to do the pro-op portion it will be the hardest part. Solely because your stomach is still all there saying FEED ME! At least I think that would have been harder than afterwards when the stomach is saying WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO! DON”T FEED ME!

Congratulations what an exciting time in your life! Celebrations are hard to deal with, but you can do it -- keep busy and don't focus on the food. During my pre operative phase my whole family when to a friends farm for a huge potluck and apple cider pressing -- I helped to pick apples but stayed away from the food centers (well a corn chip or two), but we brought home several gallons of cider (still have a couple in the freezer). I focused in on the companionship with friends and enjoyed the great weather, it was great to be outside and out of my house! I realize that that day made a difference in my attitude and helped my perspective of why I was having the surgery -- next year, I'll be able to have a little to eat, but will be able to pick more apples and keep up with all of the activities.

I think this is an amazing B-day present to yourself!! I love that I had this surgery and only wish I had known about it sooner. No problems here and I am loving my sleeve control over my appetite!
