A hyped Newbie

Hi, I'm Court. I have looked into having the various bypasses for roughly 10 years but never quite had the guts to go further with it. Last year I started having a weird pain in my hip and was treated for bursitis yet the pain really wasn't going away making it very hard to sleep at night. Life went on, random aches and pains but working it. My husband and I adopted a puppy, I tripped over her while on a walk and ended up tearing 2 places in my knee. After numerous scans they finally told me that I had moderate to severe arthritis from my mid back down, so when I have a flare up its bad..sometimes can't get out of bed, and definitely have to walk with a cane...shouldn't be that big of a deal but I'M ONLY 33 YEARS OLD

I've decided that if I'm going to be on a walker in 10 years, it's going to be much easier to lug around a 150lb person vs an 390lb person. I'm ready to take back control of my life. I know that I am not strong enough to keep up on the diet on my own cause I've been there, done that, but am looking forward to the fact that this is life changing..you can't give up, this is forever.. I feel like a kid, can't wait to see what is going to come around the bend

Hi court, I am 47 but i found out 2 years ago that I have very severe arthritis in both my knees. I probably have it elsewhere too, based on how much pain i am in. I saw an ortho surgeon who implored me to lose weight so I could then have knee replacement surgery and not become disabled. I have tried so many diets and really need the help that this surgery will provide to get me through this. I think people like us who are becoming partially disabled by our weight are extra motivated to make it happen!
