I am not sure where you are in your journey, but just want to encourage it, ,the before it one of the hardest parts. We go in wth a low self esteem because we are overweight and want it gone. Then they say we have to loose a certian amount, have so many dr visits and classes etc, but I am here to tell you its been a year for me because I got scared and canceled surgery the day of, but I am glad I went through all the six months because it helps you learn more, and it helps you realize that you have to make yourself do things in order to prove that you are willing to loose the weight. It isnt easy to loose the weight I know. I had to loose 23pds and my friend I think had to loose 60,, but whatever you have to loose you can do it! They recommended the protein shake diets for us,, and I did it for a while but got tired of liquids,, I done the 1200 calorie diet and lost the remainder. Maybe you could start higher wth your calorie reduction and then week by week lower you calories see if that helps... I know it is upsetting but you can do it,, this may not have helped and I may have read your post wrong but I hope it helps...

Oh..I feel for you...I to struggled with the pre op weight loss......terrible. such a struggle! I found medifast worked well...it's a lot of protein so you feel more full and a lean and green meal at night. The barb b Que bites are really good..in fact I could eat those as a snack diet or not....I have a drawer full do I am looking forward to reading them as meals in a couple of weeks when I cannot be at home....110 cal 11 g protein per serving..when you have stuff portioned. out for you it keeps u honest. Get thru one day....then u will get thru another and after a week...I promise u will lose 5 to 12 lbs......prob more toward the higher end on your first week. Google medifast. I wouldn't do it for extended amounts of time but it will help you lose your pre op weight. Good luck..I will be rooting for you!

Don't ever give up! It's hard but you can do it!! I know what really helped me was reducing my diet to mostly liquid, lean protein, and salad/veggies. It also helped prepare me for the liquid/puree portion of the post-op diet. Best Wishes on your journey!

You CAN do this, really you can. You know what to do and while exercise is so critical so is what you eat. I don't know if you count calories, carbs and protein, but you might want to consider it. I se and love myfitnesspal.com but there are other apps as well. Logging on each meal keeps me honest and really focused on what goes into my mouth.

Keeping under 1200 calories daily plus walking helped me lost over 25 pounds. Oh, and water. I did and still do drink over 100 ounces each day.

When you are feeling angry or depressed please vent here versus eating. You can do this.

You can do it. Don't give up hope. The harder the journey the greater the victory! That is literally a cliche but it's true we deal with overworked and stressed doctors that don't understand the struggle we have with obesity. Many of them still don't think the sleeve is appropriate. Regardless of the research out there to the contrary they still believe that somehow we just have to exercise and eat right and the weight will fall off. We all know here that this just doesn't happen. Unfortunately many insurance companies make you jump through so many hoops to get the funding for this. But, you jump through those hoops and your dance their dances. Keep fighting and you will get the sleeve and the weight will come down and if you work the sleeve you will reach your goals.
