  1. Two Years Ago Today My Life Began Again

I am sitting here, pensively staring at my keyboard. I'm wondering how in the world I can express just how glad that I am that I had gastric sleeve surgery. My quality of life has improved 100%. Having the sleeve saved my life, too.

I had undetected breast cancer when I was very heavy. My mammogram missed it due to the size of my breasts. Thank God that I lost this weight, because this year it was found and now I am cancer free.

There is still a little way to go before ...

ID:	19971 Independence Day came a day early for me. July 3rd marked the date of my last chemotherapy session. I was determined to go in there looking good to celebrate the day. I wore a dress, high heels, a wig and a tiara, and I think I looked rather festive! ( You can click on my picture to get a bigger view of it.)

Chemo went well. There is one thing I want to tell you about chemo. Just because you are done with it doesn't mean it is done with you. It will take ...

ID:	19636 I have to share this with you. Two years ago in August, I had Gastric Sleeve surgery. After years of fighting like the dickens to loose weight, and loosing and finding the same fifty pounds over and over again, I decided enough was enough.
I was 56, and obese. I was healthy, well, pretty much healthy for a fat lady...or so I thought. My blood pressure was creeping up. My body ached all the time, I lost my breath going upstairs, my feet screamed in pain constantly. ...
  4. Picture This...

    Hi,

If you have not been following my posts, I recently had my head shaved because I am told that it would only be a matter of days before it started all falling out. If you'd like more background, go read my previous post: "Reflections on A Bald Head." I am a pretty good writer, and you might enjoy reading it.

Don't freak out about my long hair in the Avitar. I still have it. In the closet. It's a wig! I also have a few short ones that look nice. ...

  5. Reflections on A Bald Head

    Hello Dear Sleevelings,

I had my head shaved yesterday. It is just a matter of a few days before my hair is going to do a massive evacuation. It is a sure thing with the drugs I am being given. They told me it would be in fourteen to seventeen days after my first chemo and this gave me two or three days before " the fall."

Sunday night, I watched videos of women who were loosing their hair due to chemo. The videos broke my heart, woman after woman, devastated ...
