Unhappy Sweet tooth back with a vengence

    Hello everyone,

It's almost been a year since I had the sleeve done. Actually, tomorrow would be the one year anniversary of starting the all liquids before the surgery. I've lost around 125 pounds since the beginning of the whole process. I am even training for a 5K. That's all great, BUT I have started eating sweets again. I hadn't had any chocolate, cake, ice cream, etc for about 8 months until I had 1 piece of chocolate and forget it! I need to get it back under control. Do you have any suggestions? Should I just quit cold turkey like I did before the surgery. I guess I just need a little encouragement. I've been at 193 give or take a few pounds for the last 4 months and need to do more of something. I have about 20 more pounds to go.

Thanks for "listening" to be blab.

    Hi Kitty7,

    Your success is inspiring!

You control everything about what goes on your plate and in your mouth, even if it doesn't feel like it at times. You're doing great. Listen to your body, check in with what you really want deep down, keep it slow at mealtimes, and breathe through your nose (seriously). I'll bet you'll find that you can be satisfied with one small piece of chocolate, if at all, and that that won't impede your success.

    Keep up the great work!

Cold turkey! I am not avoiding sweets because of the calories or slider foods but because I am afraid of getting the cravings again. You must go cold turkey

I agree cold turkey you've done so well to come this far you don't need it now. I was struggling with biscuits last week so I've cut them out completely and allowed myself one sweet treat a week . Yesterday I had 3 1/4s of a mince pie which was lovely but that's it . Well done on your success you should be so proud of yourself .

What worked amazingly well for me is go to Whole Foods and get the Adora dark chocolate (or milk chocolate if that is your thing) calcium truffles. They are amazing. They taste like very high quality chocolate and are made with organic ingredients. I have two of those a day - one in the late afternoon and one after dinner, around 8 - totally guilt free. And it takes care of all my cravings. They are 30 calories and 3 carbs so they won't wreck your diet either.
