    Default Vomiting after eating

    Hi All,
I was just wondering if anyone else has suffered from this ikky affliction? Now I'm on solid food every night after dinner I bring up atleast half of what I ate. Could this just be physiological? I was fine til I started on the real food and it's only at night.

I just started introducing soft proteins last week. I brought up some food too, probably due to eating too fast and did not chew as finely as they recommend ("the meal should last almost half an hour and chew each small bite around 20-25 times").

After 2 weeks of a pre-surgery protein mix diet and a 4 weeks post-surgery liquid then pureed diet, this is the first solid food I have eaten since the 2nd week of July, so I shouldn't expect my reduced-by 75 or 80%-stomach to be so cooperative.
I found that baking fish (like cod) wrapped in aluminum foil w/a little water works well, since it is steamed and soft.

And definitely listen to your stomach, don't eat those last 1 or 2 bites that are left over after you feel full.

    Jeez!

I'd say you need to do it differently -- different food, less food, chew more, take a LOT longer to eat your meal, be very sure you're not mixing liquids with food ... something different!

Perhaps you should eat more during snacks throughout the day and not eat so much at dinner?

I don't know what the answer(s) is/are, but I'm sure that throwing up after dinner regularly is NOT what the doctor ordered.

    Good luck.

Thanks. Maybe I do eat too fast. I always have guess it's just try try try and eventually I'll succeed. I'm still sticking to liquids throughout the day like soup and protein shakes for breakfast, I will try your advice and thank you

It isn't a great feeling, maybe the image of this cartoon might make you smile if (and hopefully not) you return your supper in the future.

I have the same issues at night, so I am very aware now when I eat. I make sure its no more than 4 tsp and I take it slow. I also make sure no liquid 30 before and after. It is funny how its only at night.. Wonder why that is??? Good Luck!!

It has happened to me, too. Not often. (3 times?)

I've come to terms with the fact that it is part of the learning process.

That is definitely, imho, the key!

Male, age 46, 6'1" tall. Starting BMI was 39 at 2 weeks pre-op. My weight loss chart.
    BMI=35 at 3 weeks post-op! BMI=30 at 15 weeks post-op! BMI=25 at 9 months post-op!
Reached ultimate goal within 5 months of surgery: free of all prescription medicines! My blog.
