Blood Pressure after ssurgery

I was just wondering if anyone else has had very low blood pressure after surgery. I am almost three years out, and every since 6 months after surgery my blood pressure is usually 98/62 consistantly. My Daugher had surgery too and her blood pressure is 110/60 which is great since she used to take medication for high blood pressure.

The Dr. says he sees no problem with my blood pressure that low, but there are times, especially while exercising, that if I stand to fast, I really get light headed.

Just wondering if anyone else has low blood pressure after surgery.

I had high blood pressure beforehand. 180/135. Now 7 weeks later and a bit of weight off I'm around 97/60. But I feel fine.

Sabr ... silly question, but ...

Are you taking any blood pressure medicine?

Are you taking any other medicine that would lower your blood pressure, even slightly? Beta blockers?

This is actually a good question. If you're taking any other prescribed medication you may want to look up the side effects to see if they can lower your blood pressure.

That's not to say that those low numbers can't come on their own, but if you're having problems with being dizzy just from standing up 'too quick' or anything as simple, it's best to check your meds and discuss it with your doctor. You don't need to be fainting just from moving around.

My blood pressure was that low before surgery and remains about the same. It hasn't ever caused me problems. Ask your doctor if you should be concerned but I have never had any doctor call it out as an area for concern. Make sure your blood sugar is ok when excercising as that could be a cause of the light headed feeling.

If you are feeling light headed on standing, it's a good idea to pump your legs several times just before you stand (like kicking/bicycle riding motions). This will help get your blood pressure up a bit so that you are not in danger of fainting.

I have never had high blood pressure. But I have had the same dizziness issue when standing since surgery. I have low blood pressure and pulse as of my
last visit. The dr. told me to hold off on major cardio and focus on weights, but otherwise was not concerned. I get a blood rushing/pressure feeling in my head and it feels pretty bad, though.

At this moment mine is 111/66 which is low for me and I am 11 days out , don't know what to think. Does anyone know if Prilosec messes with BP meds and lowers it? I am gonna drink more liquids.
