    Default Shampoos/conditioners/products for hair loss/regrowth

I saw a post the other day that had a product listed that was sold at salons that helped to regrow lost hair. I think it began with an R and the lady who posted it said she bought it on Amazon . I know of Nioxin shampoos which help to not lose hair but I do not know if they actually regrow. I know of the Rogain that you get with an RX. I would like for any other shampoos or conditioners to be posted here if possible. I know also Bioten and Fish Oil are taken as supplements. I know massage is recomended to stimulate follicles. Any other tips? Minus well collect as many as we can in one place. Thanks

I use L'Oreal triple resist reinforcing shampoo, conditioner and strength solution. It helps with breakage which I use since my hair is fragile at the points in time I wasn't getting my proper protein intake. I have noticed a difference in my hair, but like everything with our journeys our bodies are all different. I also take biotin every day - it's included in my multivitamin.

Have you been experiencing hairloss, teddtlove? It was something I really worried about, pre-sleeve. I got my hair cut in layers so if my hair started to fall out, it wouldn't look as bad.

I currently take nothing for hairloss. I'm taking a real "wait and see" attitude. It hasn't happened yet but it might. Maybe I'll start wearing hats if it happens.

No I am kinda taking the opposite approach throw the kitchen sink at it so it won't happen lol. I have always had the thinnest and finest hair. I cannot afford to lose any. my hair is so fine and thin layers don't really work. I also thought it would helpful for other to get a bunch of tips in one place.

I am taking my vitamins, plus biotin, staying at the recommended protein levels, have been using the same Organix biotin and collagen shampoo as conancryon mentioned but my good friend is a hairdresser & she is going to pick me up another shampoo & condition known for regrowth. I haven't noticed any hair loss yet but I am just under 3 months - I will post the name of the shampoo & conditioner when I get it - she is 7 years post gastric bypass & swears by the stuff she is picking up for me at the beauty supply. I have baby fine hair so I am very nervous about hair loss too!

I made sure from the start that I got in as much protein and fluid as possible. That is the best way to counter-act negative side effects like hair loss. I also started taking biotin before surgery. After surgery I increase it so that I am taking 10000mgs per day. I have fine textured hair but I have a ton of it. I had it long and it really didn't look that good, mostly just stringy. I finally cut it short and it looks fantastic. Turns out for my hair type, short is better. I looked into some of the shampoos for hair loss but when I read the reviews it seems like it was a lot of money for no real help. Another thing I do is brush my hair out really good before I shampoo it. This keeps the loose hair from collecting in the drain. I haven't noticed any real hair loss.

Copied from Coconut Oil and Hair Loss | Coconut Oil for Hair Growth | Coconut Oil Hair Conditioner - Daily Glow.com

Coconut oil helps in replenishing the natural oils produced by your scalp and also strengthens the hair shaft. This is essential to keeping your hair healthy and avoiding excess breakage and split ends. As compared to other oils like sunflower or mineral oil, coconut oil is far more effective in reducing the overall protein loss from both damaged and undamaged hair which is a major factor in hair damage and loss and therefore the use of coconut oil is effective in reducing hair loss. However it is not the only factor that is important. The other part of reducing hair loss using coconut oil is the application of the oil combined with a long relaxing head massage. When done properly, coconut oil and a scalp massage can increase the level of blood circulation and hence the hair follicles can absorb a higher amount of nutrients. The massage also relaxes the skin and stimulates the release of chemicals that help relax the body. This indirectly helps soothe the scalp and increases the hair follicles ability to grow hair. Thus the combined effect of the increased supply of nutrients and the relaxation provided by a coconut oil head massage helps keeps the hair strong and healthy and also stimulates its ability to grow consistently, in effect reducing the amount of hair loss that you experience.
