    Default Incisions, incisions...

I have 5 incisions and I'm 3 weeks post op tomorrow. My biggest incision hasn't hurt at all, but I am having 2 issues: the hole where my drain was has just finally closed. Did anyone else heal that slowly? The other problem is the incision in the center below my breastbone where the OnQ pain pump was is sooo sore. My bra band rubs on it and it hurts! It's healing - not infected but has a pretty large scar tissue knot. I've tried rubbing it with as much pressure as I can stand - heard this helps. Any suggestions?

I noticed that my drain scare had closed yesterday and I'm 4 weeks out. Only had 4 scars, so didn't have the one under bra. I've noticed little bumps under
all of the scars. Is that scar tissue? Are you supposed to rub it to make it go away? I'm sure people heal at different rates. Sure hope your pain and soreness goes away soon. Here's to the New Year!!

Mine isn't closed yet, and last night in my sleep I guess I picked the scab off of the biggest incision. Really hope it doesn't get infected =\

My surgeon's assistant told me it takes about a month for the drain incision to heal. You might want to call your doctor about the other incision to see what would be best.

I think we all heal at different rates. My far left incision is the most painful. On day 10 one of the stitches tore and it began to bleed. I went ahead and removed my stitches as directed by my physician. The other 4 incisions seem to be healing up fine, but the left one is stubbornly open. As for the scar tissue, I hav used Maderma in the past and realy did help to fade the scars. Good Luck and Happy New Life Year!

I had the same problem. Especially the one on the bra line. They took for every to heal and my stiches were so tight .They hurt alot. But now my scares are so small and light. Been using African Shea. Soon they will disappear.

One of mine didn't totally heal til 5 months. Turned out the friend of mine who removed them for me left a tiny part of one in me. I used some Boil Ease to get rid of the infection and let it drain. Try that one the one that's sore.

I have six incisions the only one that is giving me problems is the one on the lower left of my abdomen. I was concerned, because I would keep bruising ontop of bruise but doctor said I have a stitch in the muscle under there and would give me problems for about a month, but everyday I feel a little better. waiting for the day that I can sleep on my belly again.

I'm having a time with that left side too. But I realize that we do heal at different rates It just good to know that I'm not alone in this.

Thanks! I had no stitches - my doc used dermabond. I was shocked how I had no pain at all from my big incision where they removed my stomach. I am still bruised by that incision though...weird yellow color now. I've been sleeping on my stomach since about a week post op with no problems. I guess I'm just impatient. After I shower I use my hair dryer to dry the incisions - especially where my drain was and I use neosporin twice a day on all 5 places.
